London Social ScienceStaff who work in the Queen Mary/Goldsmiths Doctoral Training Centre (DTC)
Prof. Alan Pickering Alan has been a member of the Goldsmiths Psychology
Department since 2001 and academic director of the
DTC since May 2011. Alan teaches postgraduate statistical
methods and his main research area concerns the
cognitive and biological bases of personality.
Lesley Hewings Lesley has been Head of the Graduate School Office at Goldsmiths since 2009 and has extensive experience prior to that of working with research students.
Sarah Reed Sarah is the secretary for the Queen Mary/Goldsmiths ESRC Doctoral Training Centre and is the first point of contact. Prior to this she worked in the Admissions at Goldsmiths for several years.
Prof. Les Back Les is a Professor of Sociology at Goldsmiths. His
main fields of interest are the sociology of racism,
popular culture and city life. His work attempts to
create a sensuous or live sociology, an approach
outlined in his most recent book The Art of Listening
(Berg 2007).
Christoph Cramer Christoph is the Faculty Administrative Officer for the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Queen Mary, University of London
Prof. Virginia Davis Virginia is the Co-Initiator of the DTC. She works on late medieval English ecclesiastical, educational and social history and has a particular interest in exploring the sources for the history of material culture.
